DIRECTORS

1. ANWAR JAKOET : Founder and Executive Director. A teacher by profession and entrepreneur since 1989. Held various positions as Managing Director of African Jewellery and Diamonds T/A Diamond SA at Cape Town International Airport, Duty Free ; Founder/Director of both Empowered Investments and Gusto Holdings amongst others. Extensive trading and consulting experience both locally and abroad .Built up a huge network internationally.

2. QUANIET JAKOET: BTECH Marketing Management from CPUT. Also did Advanced business management course through WITS University and Gordon Institute of Business Science. Managed Rewards and Loyalty Programmes at two of the largest retailers and Financial Services company.  Currently manages the same for an Energy and Petroleum company throughout Africa.

3. FARAH JAKOET: Bcom Law, LLB,( Stellenbosch University) ,LLM Company Law (UCT).  An  Admitted Attorney and currently a Senior Legal Advisor at a major corporate.

THE TEAM

1. BAYER LAATOE: Retired school Principal with 42 years teaching experience in the Primary school teacher. 

2. JAMIEL ALEXANDER:  Retired school Principal with extensive experience in Sport administration.

3. PROFESSOR JEREMY KLAASEN:  Msc  (Microbiology) and a PhD (Plant Pathology) from Pennsylvania State University.Currently an Associate Professor in the Medical Biosciences Department at UWC. Will assist and advise with our Sustainable Food development programmes (very active with The World Food Bank) .Also assist with our Cultural Affairs being a prominent member of the Khoisan community. 

4. ZARA SCHROEDER:  Masters student in Sociology and currently advises AJF in Education sector and doubles up as Social Media Manager.

5. AMINA JAKOET SALIE: PhD from Nelson Mandela University. Senior lecturer at NMMU and has published articles in accredited journals in discipline of Public Administration.

6 PHALDIE BROWN: Founder/Director of Community Street Events. In charge of all our Events and Entertainment. 

7.  TERRENCE SMITH: Managing Director of Target Projects. Has Project Managed huge operations in construction such as Cape Town International Airport ,Cape Town Convention Centre and some projects in Africa.

8.  FUAD JAKOET:  Founder and Managing Director of VOLKSCO Logistics and Transport. He is a logistics specialist who is able to “move” anything, anywhere throughout the world.

9 TAUREQ BRITTON: Former Western ProvinceFormer Western Province , SARU and Springbok 7’s Rugby Player . One of AJF’s motivational speakers.Will also assist with sport upliftment in impoverished communities.

10. HIDAAYATULLAH TAYIB:  CEO and CoFounder of AquaOrganix which has brought Hydroponics to the forefront of regenerative and sustainable agriculture that require no manure or synthetic fertilizers.

11. ANDREW PEQUENO:  Accountant of AJF and self employed Chartered Accountant. Involved in football coaching on The Cape Flats and assists in sporting projects in impoverished communities for AJF.  

12. ABDURAHMAN ISAACS:  Experienced in warehouse management having worked for 19 years for an  International Magazine Distributor. Also did a stint in the printing industry maintaining computers and printers. Assists AJF in the ECD programmes and is excellent with children.

13. EZRA DELPORT: Born and bred in District 6 ,Cape Town ,South Africa and now resides in Chicago ,USA. Followed his dream in music and has become a world renowned Sound Engineer and has done major concerts all over the world. Also had a successful stint with the late Taliep Peterson’s musical productions  before embarking on his career abroad. After following AJF’s progress with its full humanitarian aid to the impoverished ,Ezra has become our AMBASSADOR and fundraiser in the USA. He shares our passion and wants to give back to his town and country.

14. SAKINAH (KAY) BRITTON: Kay started off as a Workstudy Engineer and later successfully operated her own CTM business for 10 years. Currently, consults for Design Centre's in the clothing Industry. A key member of AJF in assisting with Entrepreneurship and skills training.

15. YASMINA FERRIGAN: Originally from Cape Town but living in Edinburgh, Scotland for the past 20yrs. Experience in HR & Recruitment and previously worked as a CEO for a UK based NGO doing fundraising and grant applications.

16. FAZLIN DARIES: Advanced Life Support practioner by profession with 24 years experience in both private and government pre-hospital emergency medical services

17. PATRICK CAIRNS: Based in Winnipeg, Canada, Patrick has over 30 years successful experience in creative  design, visual communications and marketing. Positions held amongst others as a Director/Partner in Sports Masters Global Incorp; WeCommunications West and Cairns Creative Ltd. Born in Cape Town and now giving back to impoverished communities as an AMBASSADOR for AJF in Canada. Also doubles up as our Creative partner for branding and promotional strategies and Fundraiser.
